Steven G. Gevas, M.D., F.A.C.E.P., joined Sheridan Healthcare in 1998 as the Medical
Director of Parkway Regional Medical Center Emergency Department and became the
Chief Medical Officer of the Division of Emergency Medicine in 1999. Dr. Gevas assisted
in the ER start-ups of Plantation General Hospital in 1999, and was the acting Medical
Director for one year; NW Regional Center in 2000; Kendall Regional Medical Center
in 2005; and Baptist Memorial Hospital in 2006. Dr. Gevas currently practices at
all of Sheridan Healthcare`s ER contracts.
Dr. Gevas holds a B.A. in Chemistry from West Virginia University and received his
medical degree from the University of Maryland in 1982. He completed his Emergency
Medicine residency in 1985 at the University of Maryland Hospital. Dr. Gevas has
maintained his board certification with the American Board of Emergency Medicine
since 1987 and has been a fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians
since 1987.
