Memorial Regional Hospital and Sheridan Healthcare began their relationship back in 1953 through development of an anesthesiology department .

Memorial Regional Hospital, the flagship facility of Memorial Healthcare System opened in Hollywood in 1953 and was in need of anesthesiologists and an anesthesiology department .

OUR SOLUTIONS

In 1953, three anesthesiologists living in South Florida the predecessors of Sheridan Healthcare offered to provide hospital-based anesthesia coverage to Memorial Regional Hospital and develop a group practice model creating an anesthesiology department .

In 1997 a division of the Memorial Healthcare System, Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital was in need of neonatology services . We were able responded quickly due to the successful attributes of the original group practice model we had developed for Memorial Regional Hospital. We provide a staff to perform in Newborn Intensive Care, coverage of neonatal and pediatric emergencies, including attendance at C-sections and deliveries and technologically advanced procedures such as nitric oxide and ECMO Hearing screenings.

Sheridan Healthcare has been a proud provided of neonatology services for over 10 years for Joe DiMaggio Children`s Hospital, one of only a few hospitals in the nation performing minimally invasive, endoscopic surgery for cranial abnormalities

The relationship with Memorial Healthcare System rapidly expanded from anesthesiology into Neonatology and Emergency Medicine. To meet these needs within their healthcare environment we had to increase our sophistication while simultaneously investing in our infrastructure to ensure growth and success concurrently occurred.

The hospital system is one of the largest in Florida, with a distinguished reputation for advanced medicine and technology. Since our relationship`s beginning over fifty years ago, Memorial Healthcare System has become a leader in providing high quality healthcare services to South Florida residents.

Practice Description:

• More than 17,000 surgeries are performed annually
• All subspecialties are represented at this facility including adult and pediatric open hearts, neurosurgery , vascular , thoracic , orthopedics , urology and gynecology
• Over 4,000 obstetrical deliveries a year
• Cardiac surgery program with 800 adult and 100 pediatric open heart procedures a year
• Full service pain clinic providing acute and chronic pain management
